When I hit twenty five, I decided to stop waiting for the perfect guy with whom to go to Everest or the Antarctic, to watch the entire Grand Slam, to race in an Ironman.
But still, I remain hopeful that I might meet someone who enjoys learning about everything, and who knows how to express himself. The sports or fitness activities aren't really important, Or sitting on my couch enjoying our afternoon tea since I have many friends to do that with. It's much more important to have a meeting of minds. It's the difference between making a friend and counting the minutes after orgasm until one of dresses up and leaves.

Eating well is another joy in life. We all have to eat, so might as well derive the maximum pleasure and benefit from it. This is difficult, but part of the greater pleasure is knowing when to stop. Sometimes there is no greater meal than the one prepares because the flavors can match one's tastes exactly, and one can invest in the best ingredients if one wants.
I have not found enough evidence in this life to conclusively support or deny the existence of a benevolent and all powerful divine being. It goes back to the Epicurean question on the existence of evil and inequity. Or in more familiar terms: my friend just sent me a message that his wife gave birth, the baby girl is healthy and that god is great. If the girl wasn't healthy, what would that say about god?
Having said all this, I still think that subscribing to a religion can be a healthy choice, because shared traditions bring people together, and it provides some people with comforting answers in life when they do not wish to pry too deep.
Books are the thoughts, imagination, and experiences of other persons in edited form. Life is too short to experience everything on one's own, so these vicarious experiences are vital to a curious mind.
Therefore, people who don't read are stupid and are missing out on so much in life.
I am a frustrated writer. Why frustrated? Because I don't write enough. No one's fault but my own.
When I write to someone, I do my best to communicate in a clear and concise manner. I respect my reader enough to use complete sentences and to re-read what I have written to minimize typographical, spelling and grammatical errors. I appreciate it when other people afford me the same respect.
I am single, and have been so for almost 5 years now. Both my parents have expressed concern with this, and I appreciate their overcoming their innate homophobia in order to discuss the long term happiness of their son. They believe that I am too busy right now to meet the right partner and that I am looking for too much in one person. They may be right. But I maintain that I am enjoying life very much, and that it's not worth sacrificing all that I do for anyone less than the best. Besides, we see around us so many examples of people causing each other great misery in relationships.
In other words, I would love to have a partner, but I'm not ready to settle for anyone that does not fascinate or inspire me. Hopefully, I shall do the same for him.
Sex alters the relationship between two people irrevocably. Unfortunately, sometimes there's nothing more to the relationship than sex.
Melodies are great, but I'm a lyrics man.

One of my great frustrations in life is that I didn't have a meaningful high school or college romance. I blame our society's ingrained homophobia and my own weakness in resisting that.
Old friends are the treasures of life.
New friends can easily become old friends. All it takes is time.
So sad that many people don't enjoy what is around them. If you really think the climate here is too hot then move. If you can't because you have a spouse and kids, well, whose fault is that? But while you're here, enjoy the sunshine, the fresh food, the reasonable services, and the easy smiles.
I need to know more about mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology and history. Learning is perhaps the greatest pleasure in life.
Like everyone else, I worry about my weight. I just happen to have a quick fix when I'm feeling fat. The one hour straight of stair-climber that is.
I haven't figured out when is the appropriate time to replace one's laptop. Mine is from 2005. It's cracked and slow, but it still works.
I think that superstition is illogical, but people can believe whatever they like as long as their actions don't infringe on other people's rights.
I am generally not a humble man, but I am easily humbled by greatness in other people.
